Why do we ask this?

Understanding the contractor strategy helps identify the dutyholder arrangements to review.

A workflow record supports your decisions; it is not a compliance verdict.

WHY CDMLOGIC

Good intentions need
a consistent process.

The work is often spread across emails, spreadsheets and folders. It can be difficult to see what is missing, who needs to act and which decisions have been recorded.

CDMlogic connects the next step to the reason behind it, then helps you keep the evidence alongside the record. A practical routine your team can use across projects.

The thinking behind CDMlogic →

A CLEARER PROJECT JOURNEY

One workspace. The next step in view.

Start with the project. Build the record as the work progresses.

01

Start with the right questions

Record the client type, contractor strategy and appointment position. Understand why each question matters.

02

Make information gaps visible

Keep a pre-construction information tracker with owners, review dates and supporting evidence.

03

Record design decisions

Maintain a design risk register, review changes and communicate significant residual risks.

04

Keep the evidence with the work

Link documents, screenshots and photographs to the relevant PCI, risk or Health & Safety File record.

05

Coordinate your team

Give colleagues appropriate workspace access and keep outstanding actions visible across projects.

06

Build a useful handover record

Bring together appointments, issue records, construction interfaces and Health & Safety File tracking.

DESIGNED FOR PRACTICE LIFE

Several projects.
One shared way of working.

For smaller architectural practices that need a repeatable CDM process without losing sight of individual project circumstances.

Find your fit →
01

Clarity before paperwork

Understand the question, then record the answer.

02

Evidence with context

Keep the document connected to the decision or action it supports.

03

Professional judgement stays central

People assess the project and carry out their duties. Software supports the process.

CDM 2015 PROJECT RECORDS

From a PCI checklist to a design risk register.

A practical CDM management process connects information, design decisions and communication. CDMlogic gives each record a place in the same project workspace.

Pre-construction information tracker

Keep an organised list of surveys, existing drawings, services information and site constraints. Record gaps, responsibilities and review status, then attach the information that supports each item.

Read the PCI checklist guide →

Design risk register

Record the hazard, design response and significant residual information the project team needs. Link supporting evidence and keep changes visible so the record explains the decision.

What belongs in a design risk register? →

Dutyholder and handover records

Prepare appointment drafts, record actual issue separately and track Health & Safety File information. Keep CDM and England’s Building Regulations Principal Designer roles distinct.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few things to know.

Does CDMlogic certify compliance?

No. It supports workflow and records. Completeness indicators do not determine legal compliance, competence or whether an appointment is valid.

Can we attach evidence?

Yes. The workspace supports PDF documents, PNG screenshots and JPEG photographs, with a current limit of 4 MiB per file. Evidence can be linked to specific project records.

Can colleagues have different access?

Yes. Workspace roles include owner, admin, editor and viewer. Viewers can read project information without editing it.

Is it ready for general purchase?

CDMlogic is currently in pilot. Commercial plans and general availability will be announced after the remaining launch checks. Existing pilot users can sign in.
