PCI TRACKER · CDMLOGIC PILOT

Pre-construction information software.

Keep the information your design depends on, the gaps still to resolve and the next review in one project record.

From a folder of files to a clear information record.

A survey in a shared folder can be easy to find but difficult to interpret: is it relevant to the proposed work, has someone reviewed it, and what question remains unanswered? A PCI tracker helps the team follow those questions alongside the documents.

CDMlogic connects pre-construction information items to owners, review dates, actions and supporting evidence. Architects and CDM Principal Designers can see which items need attention as the project develops.

What should a PCI tracker record?

  • The information topic and why it matters to the proposed work.
  • The available source and the gap or limitation still to review.
  • The person responsible for the next action and its review date.
  • The current status, supporting evidence and relevant project context.
  • The design or handover record that needs the information.

Use our practical PCI checklist and worked example to start identifying relevant topics. The checklist needs adapting to the actual project.

Example: a survey does not cover the area being altered.

In this fictional refurbishment, the available survey covers one part of the building. The proposed work extends beyond that area. The team records the limitation, assigns an action to obtain suitable information and leaves the affected review open. The resulting evidence can be linked to the PCI item and considered in the related design risk review.

The record makes the unresolved question visible. It is the project team’s assessment of the information that determines what can proceed.

When is software useful instead of a spreadsheet?

A spreadsheet can work well for an individual project. A shared workspace becomes useful when several colleagues need to review information, retain supporting evidence and follow outstanding actions across projects. CDMlogic provides workspace roles and project exports so the record can also be reviewed outside the application.

Connect PCI to design decisions and handover.

Information gaps often affect a design decision. Follow our design risk register example to see how an information request can lead to a recorded review and communication action. At closeout, the Health & Safety File guide helps distinguish useful future information from a general project archive.

What is available now?

The pilot includes PCI tracking, linked PDF, PNG and JPEG evidence (up to 4 MiB per file), team access and project reports with structured exports. Explore the sample project tour and current product features, or ask about pilot access.

The core product supports CDM 2015 in Great Britain. Read the regulatory scope before assessing suitability. Official background: HSE Principal Designer guidance.
